Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN JOSEPH BINDAS October 5, 1922 - April 18, 2009 It is with sadness we announce the passing of our father, grandfather and great-grandfather after a lengthy illness on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at the age of 86 years. John was born on October 5, 1922 in Woodridge, MB and raised in Winnipeg, MB, Portage La Prairie, MB and Kipling, SK. He graduated from Daniel McIntyre Collegiate and joined the RCAF in 1942 where he stayed until the end of the war. In 1944 he married Dorothy Johnson. Daughter Jann arrived in 1946 and sons Barry and Donald followed in 1948 and 1955 respectively. He was predeceased by his son Barry, his father and mother John and Julia, his sisters, Helen (Sherman), Margaret (Joe), Julia (Russell), Mary (Tom), Daisy (Peter), Velma (Bill), and Hazel (Harry) and many in-laws, nephews and nieces. He is survived by Dorothy; his daughter Jann Wabick (Len); his son Don (Sandy); his grandsons, Brent (Vanessa), Ryan (Melinda), Adam (Kirstin), Tom and Daren and his great-grandchildren, Kierra, John Thomas, and Andrew. John was one of the first two people in Manitoba to become licensed auto body mechanics. His buddy Zenny was the other. John has chosen to be cremated. No public ceremonies will be held. The family would like to thank the staff at Meadowood Manor Personal Care Home for the excellent and loving care and comfort provided by the staff during his stay there. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Meadowood Manor Personal Care Home, Cancercare Manitoba Foundation Inc, The Canadian Mental Health Association or any charity of your choice.
