MYUNG DOCK OH Myung Dock OH passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 23, 2009, at Victoria General Hospital with her family by her side. She was predeceased by her husband and daughter in 1965. She will be dearly missed by her son Harry (Kathy) in Winnipeg; her daughter Karen (Howard) in Los Angeles; grandsons David (Christina), in Winnipeg, Mike ( Je Yoon) in San Francisco, Edward (Maggie) in Los Angeles; granddaughter Jean in Toronto, Helen in Vancouver; and four great-grandchildren Sabrina, Ashley, Cooper and Morgan. She immigrated to Canada in 197O worked her entire life caring for under privilege families as a nurse, and a midwife in Korea. During the Korean War, she had taken care of both sides of soldiers at Seoul National University Hospital Ophthalmology Department. Consequently, she worked at a Korean orphanage home in Che Ju lsland, Korea. In 1957, the highlight of her career was accompanying 20 Korean orphans to make of war movie Battle Hymn in Hollywood, U.S.A. She always had lived by her unshakable faith that nurtured through quiet prayer to the Lord. Her favorite bible scripture: I am the way, the true, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. John 14:6 The family wishes to thank the emergency staff at Victoria Hospital; Evelyn, all staff Station 2 at Tuxedo Villa for their compassion and wonderful care over the last five years and a special thanks to Dr. Suss and Dr. Griffin who helped keep her comfortable in her final hours. Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Pastor James Ko will officiate with a reception to follow. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
