JEFFREY (JEFF) EARL HAMILTON With great sadness, the family of Jeff Hamilton announces his passing on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at the age of 63 years. Jeff will be remembered with love by wife Colleen (nee Scott); children, Andrea (Darwin), Stacey (Clint), and Scott (Sheila); by his grandchildren, Hannah, Caleb, Lucas, and Jayden; and by his brother Jim (Flo); and our extended family. He was predeceased by his parents Margaret and Earl Hamilton. Jeff was raised and educated in River Heights. After high school, he earned his pilot's license through the Winnipeg Flying Club. During the late 1960's, Jeff satisfied his quest for adventure flying for Lambair throughout northern Manitoba. His love of flying eventually brought him to Winnipeg International Airport where he served as a Firefighter for Transport Canada, attaining the rank of Captain. In subsequent years, Jeff worked out of the Central Region Headquarters as an Emergency Services Officer, and then as Regional Superintendent of Emergency Response Services. This position involved extensive travel throughout Central Canada and the Arctic. Jeff and Colleen were married in 1970, and over the next 11 years celebrated the births of their three children. One of his greatest joys later in life was the addition of grandchildren to the family. Poppie loved nothing more than holding a newborn baby. Jeff was proud to be a Past President and Honourary Life Member of the Deer Lodge Curling Club. He and Colleen made many lifelong friends through their association with Deer Lodge. Jeff fulfilled his dream of owning a cottage with the purchase of the cabin at Laclu, Ontario and many cherished family memories were formed during our ten years there. Who could forget the annual Regatta, or dropping off supplies at the cut . A private memorial service has been held. Jeff left us before we were ready, but we were able to make the most of the last months we had together, in no small part because of the exceptional care provided to Jeff and his family by the physicians and staff at Health Sciences Centre, and at the Grace Hospice. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to The Grace Hospice, c/o Grace Hospital Foundation, 300 Booth Drive, Winnipeg, R3J 3M7
