Date of Passing: Dec 31, 1969
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROSINA ROBINSON (nee MASKERY) Sunday, April 19, 2009 marked the passing of our beloved grandmother at the age of 94 years. Gramma Rosie, otherwise known to relatives and numerous friends as Rose, will be remembered in our hearts as a feisty red-head, a joyful soul, and a woman with boundless energy who always enjoyed a good chuckle. Born in the potteries area in England in 1915 she came from a family of artisans and followed her own artistic talents as a milliner until 1954 when she moved to Winnipeg with her husband Alfred. They opened Robinson's English Bakery at Sherbrook and Broadway and became well known for their breads, pastries and pork pies throughout the years. Rose always maintained strong ties to England and for years was actively involved with The British Wives Club of Winnipeg and was known for producing many beautiful, wild, and wacky costumes for the numerous skits the group created for fundraising and volunteer functions throughout Winnipeg. After retiring from the bakery she was involved in many clubs and organizations and was always off to square or round dancing, craft groups or volunteering for a good cause. Her memory will be forever cherished by grandchildren Sue (Suzanne) and Fred Narozniak Jr. of Winnipeg, and A.J. (Angela) and Bucky Heard of Branson, Missouri, and great-grandchildren, Jazzlyn Rose and Cydney Reece. Rosie will also be greatly missed and fondly remembered by longtime friend Catherine Cuddy of Winnipeg, close friends Joan and Mervyn Pitts, and family and friends in Britain. Rosina was preceded in death by her loving husband Alfred, and her son and daughter-in-law Jim and Joan Robinson. We extend a special note of thanks to Joyce and also express our gratitude to Maureen, Leila, Helen, and all of those who cared for Rosina at Oakview Place. Rosina has donated her body to medical science, Faculty of Anatomy and Cell at the University of Manitoba. A private family service will be held at a later date. Donations in Rosina's name may be made to the Manitoba Marathon 2009, Suite 500-200 Main St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 4M2. Be glad of life because it gives you the chance to love and to work and to play and to look up at the stars. (Henry Van Dyke)
