EVELYN ELNORA FILEP (nee Nordin) Peacefully in her sleep at home, Evelyn passed away on April 22, 2009. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 49 years John, her son Bob (Bianka), daughter Lesa (grandchildren Seth and Zane), her brothers Stewart (Beatrice), Bob (Lois) and Russell (Linda); numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Eric and Gerda Nordin. Evelyn was born in Teulon on Canada Day, July 1, 1926. She met her love John on a blind date and the sparks flew. They were married on March 5, 1960 and went on to adopt Robert (Bob) and Lesa. Her children meant the world to her and were an immense source of pride and joy. Mom was a warm, loving and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, cousin, aunt and friend. She was a good listener to all who sought out her support and comfort and even though her body was failing, her kindness, wit and excellent sense of humour remained. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who were fortunate to have known her. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Suite 200-6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6.
