DIANE TCHIR (nee DUDYCH) February 5, 1922 - April 22, 2009 Peacefully, on April 22, 2009, Diane Tchir passed away at the Maples Personal Care Home at the age of 87 years. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her son, Jim (Joyce); daughter, Donna Oswell (Jim); granddaughter, Tannis Scott; grandsons, Christian Tchir (Shannon), Adam, Thomas and Alex Oswell; great-granddaughter, Jaden Tchir and sister, Kay Rumak. Diane was predeceased by Peter, her loving husband of 55 years in 2001; her parents, Mary and Jacob Dudych; sister, Anna Dudych; brothers, John and Steven Dudych. Diane took great pride caring for her family and home. She was an avid gardener and wonderful cook with her perogies and cabbage rolls being second to none. She was employed at the Hudson's Bay Company for 25 years, retiring in 1987. Upon her retirement, Diane and Peter travelled extensively. Diane always lent a helping hand at her church and to those in need. Prayers will be sung 7:00 p.m. Sunday, April 26 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main Street. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 27 at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 505 Watt Street at Munroe Avenue with Fr. Michael Winn officiating. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Mom and Baba, you will live on forever in our hearts. We love you.
