LOUISE (UNNUR LOVISA) ST. JEAN (nee JOHNSON, then CAMPBELL) October 17, 1931 - April 25, 2009 It is with sadness and deep sorrow that the family announces the passing of their beloved Louise St. Jean who passed away peacefully with family by her side on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at the Grace Hospital after a lengthy battle with cancer. Louise was predeceased by her husband, Henry, father, Magnus, mother, Kristin, sisters, Laura and Margaret, brothers, Allan, Ingi, Chris and Harold and son, Barry, who died shortly after birth. She is survived by eight children, who were her pride and joy, Christine (John), David (Laurilyn), Jeffery (Lynn), Valerie (Bill), Jim (Darlene), Mark (Imelda), Debbie (Stephen) and Allan (Jen), brother Mike, sister Susan, 16 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Louise was born in Selkirk, Manitoba and spent her childhood there. She moved to Winnipeg and married the love of her life, Bill Campbell, in 1951. They had eight children and were married for 25 years. During that time she worked as a waitress to help support the family. Life eventually took Louise and Bill in different directions, and she re-married in 1985 to Henry and they were together until his passing in 1990. Louise was a long-time member of the Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans Club (ANAF), John Osborne Unit No. 1, a member of the Jolly Seniors and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, and she spent many hours volunteering for them. The ANAF was her second home . She loved to be around people and made many friends there. She always made a point of speaking to newcomers and tried to make them feel welcome. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. The family wish to extend their gratitude to all the special friends and family who came to visit her over the past months, and would like to extend thanks to those who cared for her at the Concordia Hospital and Heritage Lodge.
