MILDRED IRENE COOPER (nee MCKAY) June 19, 1913 - April 28, 2009 Peacefully on April 28, 2009, at the Maples Personal Care Home, at the age of 95, with her daughter Carol (Len), granddaughters Shelly and Carol (David) at her side. Mom went to join her husband Joseph, (on his birthday), and daughter Norma, sons Jack and Doug. She was also predeceased by her parents Bill and Caroline McKay, sisters, Myrtle, Elsie, and Florence, brothers Wallace and Fergus. Her memory will be cherished by her daughter Carol (Len) Smith; daughters-in-law Marion and Marlene Cooper. Mom will also be missed by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was a free spirit. She loved knitting, cooking and baking. Her best pastime was bingo and cards (Rummy). Many thanks to the staff of 2 West of the Maples Personal Care Home, Marcia, Linda, and all other members, you are all caring Angels in disguise. Bless you all. According to Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place. A family ceremony and interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mom's name to CanerCare Manitoba, or a charity of one's choice.
