RICHARD (BOB) ROGOSKI It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Richard (Bob) Alan Rogoski at the age of 74 years. Remaining to forever cherish Bob's memory are his loving wife of 53 years, Phyllis; two sisters Marlene (Rick) and Joanne (Charlie); brother-in-law Ted (Stephanie); sister-in-law Rose; two daughters Kelly (Glenn) and Lianne (Rob); six grandchildren James, Michaela, Nicholas, Kaitlyn, Brett and Braeden and many very special relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Joe and Josephine; sister Doreen; and brother-in-law Ed. Bob was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on January 13, 1935 and grew up in Matlock, Manitoba. He retired as receiving foreman in 2000 from MacDon Industries having worked there for 21 years and speaking very highly of the company and the MacDonald family. Bob loved watching his grandchildren play hockey, soccer, lacrosse, football and dance. Many hours over the past several years were spent at the hockey rink and various sporting fields. He was very knowledgeable about sports and always provided support for all his grandchildren. When Bob had his health, he was always busy fixing something. He wasn't afraid to pull things apart and get them back together in working order, he was truly a jack-of-all trades. Bob was always there when you needed him. Bob and Phyllis spent as much time as possible at the family cottage in Cape Coppermine. It was Bob's paradise where he enjoyed family, friends, hunting and fishing. Many weekends were spent fishing on Lac du Bonnet with his family. Hunting was a big part of his life and his desire to go hunting was stronger than ever over the past year. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 8 at 11:00 a.m. in Blessed John XXIII Roman Catholic Church, 3390 Portage Avenue at Rouge Road. Interment will be held in The Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Cemetery at Winnipeg Beach. Special thanks to Ken and Joan Einarson and Lac du Bonnet RCMP officers, Kyle and Moose , who provided their support in our time of need. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob's name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200 - 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I am truly sorry for your loss! - I am an old friend of Lianne's (Andrea Beck) and remember Bob. He was a good man and one of my fondest memories was when he was DJ'ing socials and I overindulged somewhat. He ensured that Lianne and I made it home safely. My deepest condolences to you and your family. - Posted by: Andrea Walker (Family) on: Jul 22, 2009
