WILLIAM HARVEY HUDSON W. Harvey Hudson passed away peacefully at the Lions Manor Personal Care Center, Winnipeg on May 3, 2009 with family by his side. Dad was born July 17, 1911 at the family farm south of Crystal City, Manitoba. In 1933 he married Kathleen Ridgeway and they had enjoyed almost 73 years together when Mom passed away in 2006. Life since then had been lonely for Dad as he missed Mom very much. He was always happy when members of the family could be with him. Mom and Dad farmed in southern Manitoba in the Crystal City district when they were first married and later moved to the Mather district for a few years and then to the Clearwater district until they moved their family to Winnipeg in 1956. Dad worked at Eaton's and also for Grace Hospital for a short while. Mom and Dad were lucky to have many happy, healthy years of retirement and enjoyed spending time with all the family. They also enjoyed having their cribbage games every evening for many years. We all have our own special memories of wonderful times together. Dad is survived by his six children, Jim (Marilyn) Hudson, Clearwater, MB; Joyce Mott, Gunton, MB; Margaret McTavish, Winnipeg, MB; Pat (Tom) Guy, Edmonton, AB; Beverley (Wayne) Fischer, Dawson City, Yukon and Linda Layte (Bill Goertzen) Pinawa, MB. He was proud Grandpa to 17 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Dad is also survived by his brother Ron Hudson, Winnipeg; MB; sister Margaret Eva Lloyd, Atlanta, Georgia; Merle Fanning, Mountain View, California and sisters-in-law, Doris Hudson and Norma Hudson, both of Winnipeg, MB as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sons-in-law, Bill Mott and Alvin McTavish and his sister Louise and four brothers, Clifford, Arthur, Percy and Edgar. Loved unconditionally, Treasured forever. A public visitation will be held on Friday, May 8 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 9 at l:00 p.m. at McClure United Church, 533 Greenwood Pl., Winnipeg. Rev. Peter Douglas officiating. Reception to follow in the church basement. Private interment to follow. Pallbearers are Bill Mott, Jim Mott, Lyall Hudson, Heath McTavish, David Layte and Brian Layte, six of Harvey's grandsons. Remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba 200-6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3L OK6, or a charity of your choice in Harvey's memory. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
