ELEANORA (LAURA) KRASKA (nee SCHREINER) Peacefully on May 4, 2009 at Villa Youville at the age of 93, Eleanora passed away. Mom leaves to cherish her memory her loving children, Paul and Carol (Huska) of Dauphin, Lorraine Huber of Saskatoon, Anna and John Chaput, Carl and Bella (Savoie) of Lorette, Art and Armella Lamontagne of Thompson, Albert and Hilda (Rudkevitch) of Dauphin, and Marie and Frank Vincente of Thompson, son-in-law Harry Anderson of Dauphin, 23 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Otto Kraska in 1992, daughter Charlotte in 1998, grandsons Gordon Chaput 1978, Denis Chaput 2007, great-grandson Stewart Chaput in 1982, son-in-law Leo Huber in 1996, her parents John and Anna (Kraus) Schreiner and all of her three brothers and five sisters. Mom was born in Humboldt, Saskatchewan, November 9, 1915, where she met Dad and married him in 1936. They moved to Magnet, Manitoba in 1948, where they farmed. Mom was a great cook, loved gardening and animals. In 1964, they moved to Dauphin, Manitoba where she worked as a Nurses Aid in St. Paul's Home. In 1989, they moved to Lorette, Manitoba. Then in 2002, she moved to Villa Youville in Ste. Anne, Manitoba. Our family would like to thank Dr. de Moissac, Sisters Rioux and Forest, the staff at the Villa for the kind and loving care they gave her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 9 at 10:00 a.m. at Notre Dame de Lorette Parish, in Lorette, Manitoba, with Rev. Fr. Armand LeGal o.m.i. presiding. Viewing will begin at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow Mass in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
