Linda leaves to mourn her sons, Arno (Betty), Walfried (Ruth), and Roalt (Nettie) as well as her brothers, Robert (Tina) and Otto (Hedwig). Also her sisters, Agnes and Hilda in Germany. She will also be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Aldin( Lisa), Kurt (Jessika), Arlene, Adrienne (Dan), Karl (Mckenzie), Rick and Kevin as well as her three great-grandchildren, Sofia, Owen and Kiera. Linda was predeceased by her husband, Walter, her parents Emil and Amanda Schulz (nee Schulz), and brother Emil. Linda was born in Solodari, Ukraine. The turbulent years preceding the Second World War forced her family to move to Gnadenfeld where she met and married Walter Jansen on June 21, 1942. The war forced her and Walter, along with son Arno and brothers Robert and Otto, to flee to Volendam, Paraguay in 1946. Walter and Linda uprooted themselves yet again and moved to Canada in 1957 to give their children a better life there. She was immensely proud of all of her sons' achievements as well as that of all her grandchildren. Linda was well known for her love of flowers and gardening. She was greatly respected by her neighbours for her willingness to help out in whatever way she could. A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 11, at 10:30 a.m. at the North Kildonan Mennonite Church, 1131 Roch Street, Winnipeg, with a reception and interment to follow.
