Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHRISTOS LEKKAS Peacefully on Wednesday, May 6, 2009, Christos Lekkas passed away at Vista Park Lodge, at the age of 78 years. His devoted wife of 57 years, Katerina, was lovingly by his side. Christos was born on March 25, 1931 in Athikia, Greece. He immigrated to Canada in 1958. He worked as a butcher at Loblaws, Eaton's and then Canada Safeway for several years. He then owned and operated Flame Pizza until he retired in 1990. Christos was a happy soul who loved people. He always said life is beautiful . He was a humorous man who enjoyed the company of his friends and family both here and abroad. He was predeceased by his parents, Ioannis and Evangelia; his daughter Angie and his brother Elias. He is survived by his wife, Katerina; two sons, John and Bill (Cheryl); daughter, Sophia (Kosta); son-in-law George; seven grandchildren: Katerina, Christos, Dimitri, Nikos, Yiannis, Christos and Katerina; his sister Fotoula (George) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the staff at Vista Park Lodge for their compassionate care. Services will be held at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 2255 Grant Avenue. Prayers Monday, May 11 at 7:00 p.m.; Funeral service Tuesday, May 12 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery.
