KENNETH BOSCH Sadly, while battling numerous health problems, Kenneth Bosch of Headingley, Manitoba passed away on Monday, May 4, 2009. Ken was 73 years old. He was born in Winnipeg in 1935 to Henry and Evelyn Bosch. Except for brief periods in St. Charles and later in St. Vital, Ken lived his entire life on the piece of property that he loved along the TransCanada Highway in Headingley. Ken's formal education was at St. Charles School but his most valued education came from his Uncle Theo who taught him the green house business. Uncle Theo would have been proud of the business that Ken and his wife Ruth and their two sons Larry and Greg have established and run for many years on the Bosch family homestead in Headingley. Ken loved the outdoors. His family and friends have many treasured memories of fishing and summer evenings around the campfire with him at Clark Lake, Grand Rapids, and at the cottage at The Narrows. Kenneth is survived by his wife Ruth of 55 years (nee Clayton); sons Greg (Charlene) and Larry; daughters Cathy (David) and Connie (Glen); his sister Shirley; grandchildren Clinton, Kimberley, Curtis, Suzanne, and Jamie; and great-grandchildren Caleb, Mackenzie, and Arielle as well as his nieces and nephews. Ken will be missed by one of his favorite companions, his dog Jack. Ken was predeceased by his parents and by his granddaughter Jen and also by many long time friends. It is quite possible that they are all sharing a cup of coffee and a good argument right now on the other side. A memorial service in Ken's honour will be held at the Phoenix Rec Centre, 153 Seekings, Headingley, Manitoba on Thursday May 14, at 7:00 p.m. Friends are encouraged to please attend and share a favorite memory. Donations to Cancer Care Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave. Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9, or The Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3 are appreciated.
