He was born September 17, 1924 in Winnipeg, MB and during his life proudly served with the Royal Canadian Engineers during the Second World War. Sammy, as he was known by his family and friends, joined the C.P.R. in 1942 and worked as a Locomotive Engineer until he retired in 1984. He enjoyed many years of cottage life at Gimli along with frequent trips with family. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Leontine, and their three children, Raymond (Linda), Diane and Gary (Wendy); his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy; Monique (Bob) Isbister, Janine (Stephen) O'Neill, Clint (Christine), Drew and Trevor; and his great grandchildren, Jake, Victoria, Gaige, Orren, Georgia and Miles. In keeping with Dad's wishes a private service was held with his family, and cremation has taken place. We thank Rev Don McIntyre for presiding over the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Dad's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to family and friends for their love and support. They would also like to acknowledge the staff of the Victoria Hospital for the care and attention that was given to Dad. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
