OLGA MENARD (nee ZACHARIAS) After a lengthy illness Olga passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital on Wednesday, May 6, 2009. Olga was born in Mulvehill on June 22, 1927. She was raised in Camper, MB on the Zacharias homestead. Mom moved to Winnipeg in the 1940's and worked as a seamstress. In 1955 she married Georges Menard, her husband of 54 years. They traveled across Europe with the air force while raising their family of three children. In 1972, the family moved to Selkirk where she lived the rest of her years. Mom was a very artistic person and loved painting, crafts, and socializing. Her greatest joy was her family. She will be forever cherished by them for her endless love and support. Olga is survived by her husband Georges, son Doug, daughter Suzanne (Richard) and son Dave (Noreen); her granddaughter Stephanie, who was so special to her; her sister Linda; brother William, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 12 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, 309 Eveline St., Selkirk, MB. The family would like to thank her homecare, particularly Linda for all her help and support. Thanks to all of you for always brightening mom's day. Also thanks to the paramedics from Selkirk General Hospital for their efficient care.
