Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTERRY JONES Terry Jones lived his 90 years to the fullest and passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 6th, 2009. His family was his greatest joy and he is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joyce Jones, daughters Lynda (Phil), Susan (Gord), Debbie (Stan), Danielle (Ed), and son Michael (Renee), grandchildren Lisa (Pierre), Sean (Denise), Grant (Liz), Leigh (Peter), Michael and Evan, and great-grandchildren Marly, Colby, Daphne, Henry, Maggie, Lily and Angus. Terry was born in Bridgend, Wales on January 28th, 1919 and immigrated to Canada in 1921. He grew up in the mountains of Alberta and joined the Canadian Navy in 1939 where he proudly served on the HMS Prince Henry during the Second World War. Upon his return in 1946, he met and married the love of his life Mary Joyce Wade. He became an insurance agent for Metropolitan Life, then for Montreal Life, soon after acquiring his own insurance agency in the early 80's and working there until his retirement. Terry belonged to the Gyro Club for 43 years and proudly served as both President and District Governor. Hosting his son, sons-in-law and grandsons at the annual President's Luncheon was a highlight of each year. He loved the Granite Curling Club, hunting, golfing, fishing and especially his cottage at Lake of the Woods. Most of all Terry loved people and people loved him. The last 18 months of his life were spent at the Sterling House where he enjoyed cards, bingo, singing in the choir and, as always, making new friends. He will be missed and remembered fondly. There will be a celebration of Terry's life on May 13th, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at The Rockwood Army and Navy 303, Wilton Hall, 341 Wilton Street. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 204-897-4665.
