JANET PENNER Sadly, without suffering, Jesus took Janet home. With her husband, mother and sister by her side Janet took her last breath on Friday, May 8, 2009. Janet leaves behind her loving husband Howard; two daughters Tanya (Brian), Monica (Rick); her mother Bernice Flood; five grandchildren, Alyssa, Joshua, Austin, Mercedes and Tristan. Also mourning her loss, Bob Flood (Linda), Marg Young (Bob), Allan Flood (Lori) and in-laws MaryAnne and Alfred Arndt, Ernie and Kathie Penner, Wayne and Sandy Penner, as well as many nieces and nephews and many close friends. Janet was born in 1951 to parents Patrick (died 1998) and Bernice Flood in Neepawa, MB. She was born with a congenital heart defect and in 1956 she underwent heart surgery. Despite doctors predictions she was able to live a longer, more active, fulfilling life. Her deep faith gave her the strength to fight through many complications. Janet will be missed by many for her willingness to help others, her smile even during rough times and her undying will to fight for life. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, May 13, at 7:00 p.m. at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, May 14 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Timothy's Parish Church 135 John Forsyth Road with Father Phil Daley as the Celebrant. We would like to thank Dr. Hugh Smith for his continuous care and dedication towards Janet's medical needs. As well as the many staff at St. Boniface hospital who tended to her over the years.
