DOREEN LANG It is with great sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother on May 7, 2009. She leaves to mourn her sons, Doug (Peggy) and Bruce (Sharon); six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; her sister Pearl Jefferson and special niece Beverly (Bill) Purvis. Mom was predeceased by her husband Stanford; parents, William and Georgina Jefferson and her siblings. She was born in Gunton, Manitoba on January 5, 1921. She spent most of her life in Selkirk and 14 years in different mining communities making lifelong friends. Mom spent the last eight years in Red River Place Personal Care Home and we would like to express our appreciation to the girls that made her feel like a queen, you know who you are. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Selkirk. A viewing will be held half hour prior to services. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
