RONALD MCCALMAN Unexpectedly, after a brief illness, Ron passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at the age of 43 years. Ron leaves to cherish his memory, parents Jim and Marion McCalman, sister Debbie (Horace) Branconnier, his nieces and nephews Christopher and Stephanie Branconnier, and Dustin Soroka. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister Karen Soroka, grandparents Paul and Elsie Smith, James and Mary McCalman. Ron was born February 5, 1965 in Winnipeg, MB. He resided in Selkirk, MB until his passing. It was there that he met many friends whom he cherished and who will miss him dearly. He was a kind, caring and compassionate soul. He loved the outdoors and from a very young age; he loved fishing. He spoke positively about the future and had a lot of dreams and aspirations. Ron will be sadly missed but never forgotten. The family wishes to thank all those that supported Ron during this difficult time. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Selkirk Support Centre, 242 Manitoba Avenue, Selkirk, MB. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
