STEPHANIA ANNA STIEBEN (SWYCK) Stephania Anna Stieben (Swyck) born September 22, 1920 in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. Stephania passed away, at the age of 88 years old, peacefully on Monday, May 4, 2009 at Mountainview Village Nursing Home in Kelowna, BC. Stephania moved to Winnipeg in 1940 where she raised her family. In 1992, she moved to Kelowna, BC where she established many relationships and friendships over the last 17 years. Stephania enjoyed sharing her Ukrainian heritage with her family, in particular her grandchildren by teaching them the art of Perogy making and Ukrainian Easter Eggs, even venturing to the Ukraine by herself to visit her relatives. Stephania was very active in her senior years travelling and enjoying numerous crafts, card games, and in particular Scrabble. Stephania leaves behind many loved ones and is survived by her sons Danny, Glenn, David and her daughters-in-law, granddaughters Lisa, Jenny, Sharon, Sandy and their husbands, great-grandchildren, Drake, Briony, Denver, Adelaide, Blake, Landon and many nieces and nephews. Stephania was predeceased by her husband Jacob, sons Wayne and Raymond and daughter-in-law Rena. She was also predeceased by her sister Mary Dmytryshyn, and brothers Bill Swyck, Louie Swyck, and her parents Nastia and Mytro Swyck. The family would like to thank all the wonderful staff at Mountainview Village in Kelowna, BC for their care of Stephania over the last few years. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, memorial tributes in honor of Stephania may be made to Good Samaritan Canada, Mountainview Village, 3070 Burtch Road, Kelowna, BC V1W 5G2 Memorial service was held in Kelowna, BC on Thursday, May 7, 2009. Funeral services will be held at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111
