Gordon was born in Toronto, Ontario on July 18, 1928. He met the love of his life ice skating at the age of 11 years. He began his career at Otis Elevators Ltd. in the stockroom and retired after 48 years as the District Manager in Winnipeg. Gordon was a proud member of the Winnipeg Rotary Club serving as president in 1983-84. His great passion was golf at St Charles Country Club playing alongside Bob Nicholson, John Lord, David Marshall, and Jim Meehan. Gordon had so many fond memories of times spent with them. He liked to call the golf course his summer cottage. After retirement, Gordon dedicated his days to golf and travel with life partner Dorothy. In days past he loved eating out and park picnics with his good friends. Gordon spent countless hours with his grandchildren driving them to school, teaching them to play miniature golf, Chinese checkers, pool and puzzles. You could find him most mornings at Robin's Donuts and weekly at Pappa's Restaurant. Gordon was a well respected friend of many known for his distinctive laugh, his incredible wit and his generosity. He was a committed husband, father, grandfather and friend. Special thanks to friends Myrt Nicholson, Joe Schoenhofer and Arthur Lark who were there for Gordon when he needed them. The family would like to thank Dr Joshua and Dr George for their devotion to Gordon's care and also the staff on the 3rd floor at the Grace who were so attentive and caring.
