SUSAN MARIE MAKL (nee NOWICKI) On May 11, 2009 surrounded by the love of her family, Susan Marie Makl courageously and with dignity passed away after a long battle with cancer. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her daughter Laurie, son-in-law Eti, grandchildren Oyinkro, Kesiena and Benalayefa, son Craig, sisters Bonnie (Ken), Toni (Dave) and her brothers Raymond and Earl. She also leaves to mourn her wonderful nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, aunts and uncles as well as her extended family at Manitoba Hydro. Susan was a quiet, reflective, thoughtful woman who loved and treasured her family and friends. Susan enjoyed spending her time embroidering, crocheting, painting as well as other crafts. A lot of her works of art became treasured gifts. A memorial service will take place on Friday, May 15, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Rock, 1397 Buffalo Place (off McGillivray), Winnipeg, Manitoba. Deep appreciation to Dr. Lori Hilderman, Val and especially the nursing staff of the Palliative Care Unit at St. Boniface Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations in Susan's name may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division.
