MURRAY T. BROWN Peacefully on Saturday, May 9, 2009 our dear father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away at the age of 88. Murray will be lovingly remembered by his son Don (Valerie) Brown; son-in-law Martin Gisti; grandsons Kevin (Laura) Gisti and Kaldean (Hana) Brown; granddaughter Joanne (Doug) Meister; eight great-grandchildren; sister Louise Bovet, many special nieces and nephews, and special friend Vi McKeever. Murray was predeceased by his parents Clarence and Olive Brown, wife Helen (nee Burley), daughter Marlene Gisti and sister Joyce Johnson. Murray was born September 27, 1920 in Kamsack, SK, and was raised and educated near Belmont, MB. Murray attended the Manitoba Agricultural College and started his career at the Inwood Creamery in Inwood, MB where he met and then married his dear wife, Helen and raised their two children Marlene and Don. He managed the Inwood Creamery until 1967 when they moved to Winnipeg and Murray began working for the Manitoba Department of Agriculture as a Dairy Specialist until his retirement in 1985. There are many fond memories of time spent at the family cottage at Lundar Beach where he and his wife Helen enjoyed the company of family and good friends. Those who knew Murray well, remember how much he loved spending time with people. In fact, other than his love for music and his appreciation for a good sports event, visiting was his one true hobby! Murray would engage in conversation with anyone willing to take the time, and was known for his gentle touch, kind smile, and unique sense of humour. The family would like to thank the caring staff of Extendicare Oakview Place for the exceptional care Murray received over the past few years. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 15, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Inwood with Pastor Claire Speary officiating. Interment to follow at the Inwood Cemetery. Friends who so desire may make donations in Murray's memory to Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Inwood, MB. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall, in care of arrangements.
