HELEN MAGDALENA MCMULLIN (nee Kuntz) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Helen McMullin in the early morning of May 14, 2009, with her husband and two daughters at her side. Helen was 74 years old and had courageously fought cancer for 12 years. Helen is survived by Herb, husband of 41 years and daughters Sandra (Jim) of Calgary, AB, and Shannon (Dan) of Boston, MA, sister Rose, brothers George and Bernie, grandchildren Julianna and Alexandria, mother-in-law Margaret, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Helen loved life and surrounded herself with many friends and family members. A dedicated wife and mother, her primary focus was raising her two daughters and performing volunteer work at Grace Hospital. Over the past ten years, she found joy and love in spending time with her two granddaughters. Helen left a legacy of living to help others, placing the needs of her family, numerous friends and acquaintances ahead of her own. Her spirit lives on in those whose lives she touched but she will never be replaced. Prayers will be said on Monday, May 18, at 7:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, May 19 at 11:00 a.m. at Blessed John XXIII, 3390 Portage Ave. Burial will held immediately after the service at Assumption Cemetery, Chapel Lawn, followed by a reception at the church. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to CancerCare MB. We would like to thank Dr. James Johnston and nurse Erin of CancerCare MB and the kind and caring staff at the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Chapel Lawn 885-9715

I do not know how I missed this in the paper - I just heard today. Please accept my most heartfelt condolences. We have had a good community and a good life and great daughters growing up to be lovely young women. I guess what more could we ask. My love to the family!
