ANN OLGA ZEBRINSKI (nee GOTTFRIED) Peacefully on Friday, May 15, 2009 at the Pembina Place Personal Care Home, Ann Zebrinski passed away in her 90th year. She was predeceased by her husband Stanley Zebrinski in 1965; parents Leon and Katherine Gottfried; daughters Agnes Zebrinski and June Couture; brothers, Joe, Walter, John, Willie, Adam; sisters, Rose Malinowski, Victoria Fedorchuk and Helen Walburg. Ann is survived by her son Edward Zebrinski of Winnipeg; daughters, Rose (Abe) Hildebrand of Port Coquitlam, BC, Betty (Bill) Van de Lek of Winnipeg and Debbie (Marcel) Delfosse of St. Claude, MB; grandchildren, Greg Hildebrand of Port Coquitlam, BC, Michele Couture (John) of Winnipeg, Melanie Couture of Oakville, MB and Katherine Delfosse of St. Claude. She is also survived by her sisters, Mary (Charles) Hurak of Gimli, Agnes Cook of Sydney, BC, Florence (Bill) Van One of Creston, BC, Terry Finlay of Picture Butte, AB, Liz Bryce of Gimli and Kathy (Merlin) Rhodes of Champion, AB; brothers, Frank (Ruby) Gottfried of Rivers, MB, Leo Gottfried of Husavick, MB; also by in-laws, Carolin Gottfried, Irene Gottfried, Joe Malinowski and Jean Zebrinski. Mom was born in Toronto, ON on February 29, 1920. At six months of age the family relocated to Gimli, MB where she was raised and educated. Also at an early age she came to the big city'. After her marriage to Dad in St. Benedict's Church in Camp Morton, MB they resided on the family farm in Arnes, MB for a few years before returning to Winnipeg. Relocating a few years later to Arnes where they farmed for about 1012 years, then moving to Gimli, MB. After awhile they moved to a farm in Winnipeg Beach, MB and a couple of years later they returned to Winnipeg. That was the final move. Mom was a resident of the Polish Manor on Selkirk Avenue for more than 23 years. She was an active lady who bowled twice a week and swam three times a week at the Centennial Pool along with carpet bowling. During the Christmas Season Mom would be busy making many dozens of perogies and peroshke for people at the Law Courts building where Ed worked. You never left her apartment hungry. She also enjoyed a good card game of Hola, and you didn't dare pull a fast one on her while playing cards. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 20 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Father Albert Lalonde officiating. The Service will terminate at the Chapel. Lunch will follow. Inurnment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
