PAULINE KOWALSKI It is with great sadness our family announces the passing of our cherished wife, loving sister and aunt, Pauline Kowalski, on May 16, 2009, who left us peacefully on her earthly abode to be with her mom and dad, sister Anne and brothers-in-law, Ernie, John, Tony and Ed. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 60 years, Michael; sisters, Terrie Balichowski, Mary (Joe) Elinsky, Sally (Longene) Karchewski of Regina, SK, sister-in-law Sophie Herman, brothers-in-law Joe (Teenie) Kowalski, Stan (Marie) Kowalski and Walter (Gertrude) Kowalski; numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Pauline was born on August 26, 1920 and raised in Tolstoi, Manitoba. In her early 20s, she moved to Transcona where she met the man of her dreams, Michael, and together they began their future. Pauline had been employed at Perths Dry Cleaners for over 30, until her retirement. Her passions in life included her family and travelling. Over the years, her most enjoyable vacation spots included Hawaii, Mexico and Arizona, with her husband, family and friends. Pauline treasured her annual May long weekend trips to Regina visiting family. Her most memorable times included the family gatherings around the holidays. Pauline adored her nieces and nephews and was also known and loved as a terrific great-aunt. A special thank-you to Liz Balichowski, who lovingly cared for Pauline throughout her many ordeals and supported her in her time of need. Michael would like to extend his appreciation to the staff and nurses at Park Manor Personal Care Home for the care, comfort and compassion they provided her. Heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nursing staff of Concordia Hospital, for their professionalism, compassion and kindness. Funeral service will be held on Friday, May 22, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day Street with Pastor Jan Spyrka officiating. Honourary pallbearers will be Jeff Herman, Michael Balichowski, Jason Balichowski, Sheldon Chapko, Paul Karchewski and Allen Kowalski. God has you in His keeping, We have you in our hearts
