ESTHER EDNA SOURAY (HERTRICH)
Date of Passing: May 14, 2009
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryESTHER EDNA SOURAY (nee HERTRICH) a.k.a. Laura Latrell It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I announce the passing of my Mom, Esther Souray on May 14, 2009, at the age of 64. Mom had been fighting a long battle with cancer, but passed away peacefully in her sleep at St. Boniface Hospital, with her family by her side. Known to many as Laura Latrell, her gift of music and entertaining warmed many hearts, and brought smiles to many faces. She will be deeply missed by many. She leaves to cherish her memory daughter Denise Souray and son-in-law George Yantzis, as well as, her four grandchildren, Vanessa, Ashley, Charlene, Nicholas, great-grand-children, Dylan, Natasha, Kalem, Mathew, seven sisters, three brothers, their families and many friends. Respecting Mom's wishes, a gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at 166 Beliveau Road (Anavet Lodge), Winnipeg, Manitoba. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to lalobainthewild@hotmail.com. Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there, I do not sleep I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow, I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight, I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there, I did not die. MOSAIC FUNERAL, CREMATION AND CEMETERY SERVICES 1839 Inkster Blvd. 275-5555

I had the distinct honor of working with Esther "Laura Latrell" Souray during her tenure in Toronto. I came upon a video on YouTube that she and I made at the historic Matador After Hours Club, and I hope you don't mind if I share it with the family and friends who can view it at http://www.tubechop.com/watch/7695466 She is sorely missed. - Posted by: Peter Styles (Co-Worker) on: Feb 15, 2016

Nana, there is not one day that passes by that I don't think of you. You were my everything, you mean the world to me. Every holiday, or birthday I remember the great times we shared, from playing and singing on the guitar to just sitting around the kitchen table telling ghost stories. Natasha and Dylan often tell me how much they miss you, so we picked a star in the sky and named it after you. That way when things are tough and we want to talk or just say hi, we look up at your star and wave. Love you and miss you everyday beautiful - Posted by: Vanessa Kilmister (Granddaughter) on: Jan 26, 2012
