TABALA ORECK December 7, 1919 - May 17, 2009 Tabala (Pidgie) Oreck, died peacefully on Sunday afternoon with family by her side and shortly after getting a breath of fresh air and a final smell of the flowers. Her strength of character and love of family and life has been imparted to the generations that follow her. Tabala was predeceased by her parents Mary and Noach Sures, her loving husband Sidney and her brothers Lawrence and Richard Sures. She is survived by daughter Karen Morton (Paul), son Peter Oreck (Carol), sister Ruth Freed (Joe) and sisters-in-law Zoe Oreck, Joy Sures and Estelle Sures, as well as by her greatest admirers, grandchildren Henry Morton (Illana), Elisa Morton Palter (Gil), Julie Morton (Ron O'Brien), Robbie Stocki (Daniel), Hal Oreck and Mira Oreck. She was blessed with 14 great grandchildren who have almost as much energy as she did. Funeral service to be held at Beth Israel Cemetery (1721 Willingdon Avenue, Burnaby) on Wednesday May 20 at 3:00 p.m. Shiva will be held in Vancouver from Wednesday until Monday and in Toronto Sunday and Monday. The family expresses its deepest appreciation to the many care givers who gave Tabala their support, and a special thank you to Dr. Stanley Sunshine for his exceptional care and kindness.
