PETER J. (JEAN-PIERRE) LETAIN PETE THE PAINTER It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Pete Letain. He entered into eternal peace on May 18, 2009. He leaves to mourn his wife, Della (nee Verley), his daughters Kim and husband Russell (Quinn and Reese) Schutte, Twila Letain and husband Shaun (Darrian and Liam) Prendergast. His mother Adelaide (nee Lavoie) Letain, his sisters Jacqueline and husband Gordon Hannibal, Brigette and husband Remi Therrien. His brothers, Luke and wife Lynn Letain, Marcien and wife Jeannette Letain. His sisters-in-law, Cindy Kabel, Sr. Anita Verley, Annette Verley and husband Paul Thorsteinson, Sylvia and husband Aldwyn Taggart, Lucille Verley and husband Kevin Swordy. His brothers-in-law Roland and wife Lea Verley, Reg and wife Wendy Verley, Andre Girard. He is predeceased by his father Julien, his brothers Paul and Vital, his mother and father-in-law RoseAnna and Alphonse Verley and his brothers and sister-in-law Gerald and Cyrille Verley and Irene (nee Verley) Girard. Pete was a great husband and father and the strength of his family was a testament to the love he showed. His grandchildren adored him and even during months of painful illness he maintained involvement in their lives. He was the much loved uncle of many nieces and nephews and a dear friend to all who knew him. His words of wisdom and his flare for story telling will be sorely missed at family camp fires. Pete enjoyed his many years working for Frontier School Division and spoke often of the many friends he made during that time. Pete enjoyed gardening, golfing and pretty much anything else that kept him outdoors. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Notre Dame des Victoires Roman Catholic Church in Laurier, Manitoba. Interment to follow at Laurier Cemetery with Father Paul Tinguely as celebrant. Finally, a huge thanks to Doctors O'Hagan and Gudmundson and all the care givers of the Ste-Rose General Hospital who showed immense compassion when dealing with Pete and his family, during this difficult time.
