RENE LECLAIRE 1944 - 2009 Suddenly, on Sunday, May 17, 2009, René passed away after a massive heart attack. His family tried in vain to resuscitate him. René was born in Ile-des-Chênes, Manitoba 65 years ago and resided there all of his life. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife of 39 years, Simone (nee Raynaud), and his loving children, Philip (Laura), Jean-Paul (Trish), and Roger (Amber); grandchildren, Austin, Michael, Angelina, and Purceas. He was predeceased by his father, Pierre, and by his mother, Marie-Rose whom he cared for, by two brothers, five brothers-in-law and a nephew. René was a natural-born engineer. There was nothing he could not repair be it appliances, trucks, tractors, snowmobiles, dirt-bikes or all those televisions. He was an excellent carpenter, landscaper, and farmer, but he could not boil water! By trade, he was an elevator technician and repair specialist for over 30 years. René never enjoyed a vacation because he was always too busy spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for many years. Anyone who knew René knew how he loved country music and western movies. We will miss his smile and his generosity. We will miss you always. Funeral mass will be celebrated by Father Robert McDougall at the Notre-Dame de la Miséricorde Roman Catholic Church in Ile-des-Chênes, Manitoba on Saturday, May 23 at 11:00 a.m. Viewing will begin at 10:30 a.m. The service will terminate at the church. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in René's memory to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements. 775-2220

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I worked in elevator industry in 5 major cities across Canada and Rene was the nicest guy I ever worked with, we went to Churchill together and I learned much from him. Just found out about his passing and just had to honour him with my positive memories of a great guy. Rest in peace brother. - Posted by: Bryan Scott (Co- worker) on: May 05, 2019
