DONALD (DON) A. TORRANCE It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Don on Monday, May 18, 2009, at the Seven Oaks Hospital. Don was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Doris Torrance. He will be lovingly remembered by numerous aunts, cousins, relatives and friends, especially cousin Judy and long time friend Jim. Don was born on March 23, 1937 and was a lifelong resident of West Kildonan. He was very involved as a Cub Leader Akela for many years. He worked for 35 years at Seven Oaks School Division Resource Centre. He began his working career in Eaton's Shoe Department. Prayer service will be held on Thursday, May 21 at 7:00 p.m. in St. John's Cathedral, 135 Anderson Ave. Funeral service will be held on Friday, May 22 at 4:00 p.m. also in St. John's Cathedral, with reception to follow. Pallbearers will be: Allan Klohn, Mark Fuller, David Harding, Chris Harding, Bob Wedlake and Michael Ward. If friends so desire memorial donations in Don's memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 200-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6 or a charity of one's choice.
