HARRY ALBERT WITTMEIER May 23, 1929 May 24, 2009 On Sunday morning May 24, 2009, the day after his 80th birthday, with his loving wife Lilly by his side, Harry was peacefully welcomed into God's arms. Harry is survived by his wife Lilly of 57 years, their children: Les (Diane) and children, Adam (Trish), Kristy Cheop (Sean and great- grandson Cadel) and Evan; Wayne (Norma) and children, Brian (Tara and great-grandsons, Kyle and Brandon) and Jennifer (Shane); Kevin (Darlene) and sons, Tyler, Kurt and Matthew; Roxane Novakowski (Randy) and daughter Chelsey; Lisa Hrynyk (Tony) and daughters, Samantha and Kara; Mona Strecker (Rodney) and sons Drake and Devan; many nieces and nephews including Rhonda Cameron (Tim) and Barbara Pachal. He is also survived by his sisters, Lily Kilbrei, Evelyn Hoffman, Lorraine Kallert, Irene Schwark (Jack) and Ruth Topnik (Lawrence) and sister in-law Irene. Harry was predeceased by his infant son Curtis, parents Adolph and Hulda, siblings Willy, Ben, Roy Patzer and Edith Jensen. Harry was born in Stead, MB where he grew up on the family farm. On May 17, 1952 he married Lilly. They raised their family in Stead where they ran a mixed farm and electrical contracting business. In 2000, Harry retired when they moved into Beausejour, MB. In recent years Harry had major health challenges. He faced these challenges with great courage, strength and faith. A prayer service will be held on Wednesday, May 27 at 7:30 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue East, Beausejour. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 28 at 11:00 a.m. also at the Chapel with Pastors Mark Koenker and Jason Zinko officiating. Friends may view at the prayer service and prior to the service on Thursday. Interment will take place at the Trinity Lutheran Church Parish Cemetery in Thalberg. Pallbearers are close friends, Dan Zirk and Ed Gunning and grandchildren, Evan Wittmeier, Brian Wittmeier, Tyler Wittmeier, Chelsey Novakowski, Samantha Hrynyk and Drake Strecker. Thank you to Dr. Zeiler, the staff of Beausejour Hospital and Beausejour Home Care for the excellent care they provided.
