HELEN BIG DO CHAN After almost exactly 25 years apart, on May 22, 2009 our mother was reunited with our father who passed away on May 23rd, 1984. She was 85. She is survived by her children Susan, Patrick (Lotus), Diane, Vincent and grand-children Eugene, Belinda, Jeffrey. She will also be missed by three brothers in New York, sisters in California, Hong Kong and sisters/brother in-law Lana, Tsui Kum, Victor (Moniza); many nieces and nephews. She was loyal and generous; her relatives and friends were benefactors of her thoughtfulness. Mom was the glue that held our family together and after emigrating from China in 1965, she lived her life with the primary goal of bettering the lives of her children and providing for their needs. Her hard work, thriftiness and forethought is the foundation upon which we can base every success and achievement in our lives. In her latter years, her advancing health problems severely limited her ability to indulge in her joys of life - cooking for others, gardening and sewing. Even in her hobbies and hampered by disabilities, her industriousness was evident, amazing those around her! Final goodbyes will be said on Wednesday, May 27, 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, interment to follow. Although it is with heavy hearts that we let you go, we recognize that you have fought bravely against the ravages of your chronic pain and have beaten the odds on numerous occasions. Your long fight is over now and you have earned your rest. You will be forever in our thoughts. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
