EUGENIA (JEAN) KOCH (nee MATZ) January 5, 1923 May 25, 2009 Peacefully on May 25, 2009 at the Lakeshore General Hospital in Ashern, Eugenia (Jean) Koch, aged 86 years, of Moosehorn, MB passed away. Remaining to cherish her memory are her daughters Diana, Ingrid (Réal), her sister Edith (Erich) Becker of Hanover, Germany, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Albert in 1985, her parents, along with three sisters-in- law and two brothers-in-law and other family members in Germany. Eugenia was born near Warsaw, Poland on January 5, 1923 to August and Olga Matz. Mom came to Canada by ship in January 1952. Her and Dad were then married on August 16, 1952. They both worked side by side on the family farm until July 1970 when they moved to Moosehorn. Mom worked at Anne Friebach's Café and then at the Moosehorn Motor Hotel. She remained in her home, that Dad built, in Moosehorn until May of 2004. Mom then moved to the Heritage Villa, where she remained until her passing. Mom will lovingly be remembered for her good cooking and her great love of flowers and gardening. She was a kind hearted loving mother. We could always rely on her whenever we needed advice on baking, planting flowers or financial. Mom was always a very inventive person and many times surprised us with her creative capabilities. She took great pride in caring for her home and yard. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 29, 2009 at the Peace Lutheran Church in Moosehorn with Pastor Gary Russell officiating. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service in the church. Interment to follow in the Peace Lutheran Cemetery. Thank you to all her friends and family and the homecare workers who assisted Eugenia when she became so ill. A thank you to doctors, nurses and staff at the Lakeshore General Hospital for the care and compassion they showed our family. A special thank you to Irene Weidner for the support and comfort you gave our Mom. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in mom's memory to a charity of one's choice. Mom you will be greatly missed and forever loved. Arrangements by: ARNASON FUNERAL HOME Ashern - Lundar 1-204-768-2072 1-866-323-3593
