LOUISE BANNISTER After a lengthy battle with Parkinson's disease, Charlotte Louise Bannister (Ironside) went peacefully to be with her Lord and Saviour on May 22, 2009 with her two daughters at her side. Louise was born in Cereal, Alberta on May 18, 1919, the only child of William and Carrie Ironside. Her family moved to Winnipeg shortly after and Louise completed her schooling in River Heights, graduating from Kelvin High School in 1937. Louise met William Bannister at Broadway First Baptist Church and they were married November 20, 1943. Louise and Bill retired to Crystal City where they spent 25 wonderful years before returning to Winnipeg to be closer to family. Louise was predeceased by William, her husband of 61 years. She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Gwen (Duke) Cameron, Sue (Ed) Martin; four grandchildren Duke (Leona) Cameron, Bill (Rosalie) Cameron, Greg (Jacquie) Martin, Shelley Martin (fiancé Larry Gross); and nine great-grandchildren, Kevin, Jamey, Julia, Kaitlyn, and Megan Martin, Bethany and Bailey Cameron and their mother Katie, Kyla and Breann Cameron. A very special thanks to the staff of Donwood Personal Care Home 2 North for making the last five and a half years of Louise's life as comfortable and dignified as her disease allowed. If friends so desire, a donation may be made to Donwood Personal Care Home, 171 Donwood Drive, Winnipeg, MB R2G 0V9. A celebration of Louise's life will take place on Friday, May 29, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Winnipeg Evangelical Free Church, 500 Lagimodiere Blvd.
