IAN VICTOR BARTLETT July 29, 1955 - May 24, 2009 Ian passed away peacefully at home after a very courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, May 24, 2009, at the age of 53 years. Ian is survived by his loving wife Kim; daughter Dru-Ann (Ryan); father Vic (Ruby); sisters Cindy (Richard) and Kathy (daughter Lyndsey); brothers-in-law Murry (Dawn), Dwight (Sharon), sisters-in-law Donna (Steve), Debbie (Russell), Shannon (Darren), (Lori), numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Louise Rud; parents-in-law Bob and Jean Lavineway and brother-in-law Dennis. Ian was born in Ottawa and spent the first 17 years of his life as an air force brat. After high school he was a Naval Reservist before starting a 30 year career as a Correctional Officer. Ian had many interests over the years, baseball, and refereeing hockey to snowmobiling, computers and cooking. Over the last few years his greatest joys were family, friends, golfing and winters in Texas. A Celebration of Ian's Life will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. in the Headingley Community Centre, 5353 Portage Ave., Headingley, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9.
