Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT MURRAY (BOB) DUFFIN It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected loss of Robert Murray ( Bob ) Duffin. Bob passed away on May 23, 2009 in his 66th year with his family at his side after a sudden and brief battle with cancer. He fought bravely to the end and will be greatly missed by his wife of 41 years, Sheelagh; daughter Kelly (JR); sons, Christopher (Erin) and Matthew (Malinda); aunt Muriel Krizanc (Rene); uncle Murray Duffin (Brenda); sisters-in-law, Joyce Cyr (Stuart) and Mary Knight; nieces, Shannon Leach (Jaime) and Megan Pendy (Joe); nephews, Sean Riley (Tracy) and Quinn Cyr (Jolene), as well as his many beloved cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Bob, an only child, was predeceased by his mother Margaret Cooke, his father Roy Duffin, stepfather Bob Cooke and uncle Louis Addy. Bob was born and raised in Winnipeg and spent 12 years in Calgary and Edmonton before moving to Barrie, Ontario and then Mississauga, which he has called home for the past 26 years. His entire working career was spent in auto insurance. He started with Western Assurance in Winnipeg and transferred with them many times while they evolved into Royal Insurance and finally RSA. While his family was growing up, he was heavily involved in the community as a Cub Scout leader, T-ball coach, and hockey coach and manager. He loved to travel, especially to his favourite city, Paris. In celebration of Bob's life, extended family, friends, colleagues and neighbours are invited to attend the visitation from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, May 29 and the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 30. Both will be held at Turner and Porter, Peel Chapel at 2180 Hurontario Street in Mississauga (Hwy. 10 N. of QEW). If desired, memorial donations may be made to either the Canadian Cancer Society or the Trillium Health Centre Foundation. The family would like to thank Trillium Health Centre for the truly professional and compassionate care both he and the family received during this most difficult time.
