JOHN HUNTER CORDNER 1930 - 2009 Jack died peacefully at Calgary Place where he was a resident for over three years. Jack was born in Mill House, Dunanney, Carnmoney, Belfast, N. Ireland. He arrived in Winnipeg in 1965 where he later met his loving wife Sheila. He was preceded in death by his brothers - Jim of Ballyrobert, Ireland, Isaac of Germany and Andrew of Winnipeg, Canada. He is survived by Isaac's family in Germany, Andrew's family in Winnipeg and his sister-in-law Lesley of Naples, Florida. Jack mastered the building trade covering its many facets both in Ireland and Canada and his expertise can be seen in his home and the many other buildings he was associated with. Jack was also a major participant and investor in his late brother Andrew's stained glass business and the beautiful workmanship can be seen in churches of Winnipeg and the surrounding areas. The love of bike and car racing he did in his youth followed him through his life and stemmed back to his father's automobile business. Jack had a great love of wildlife and was never happier than on one of their many trips both in Canada and abroad. Sheila wishes to express her deep gratitude to all those who were entrusted with her husband's care in Calvary Place for not only their professionalism but the kindness and compassion they showed her husband in his hour of need. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Andrews River Heights United Church, 255 Oak Street, Winnipeg, MB R3N 3P7.
