RUDOLF (RUDY) MILLER 1932 2009 My husband, our Father and Grandfather, Rudy Miller passed from this life to meet his maker at home on May 23, 2009. He was born March 20, 1932 to Philip and Elizabeth Goossen Miller at Morris, Manitoba. He reached the age of 77 years. On October 20, 1956 he married me, Elizabeth Chomyshen at Haywarden, Saskatchewan. We shared life's joys and tears for over 52 years. Two sons and four daughters were born to us. Dad gave his heart to the Lord and together with Mom was baptized into the Church of God in Christ Mennonite at Rosenort, Manitoba in the year of 1973. In the autumn of 1978 we as a family moved to Arran, Saskatchewan. He was a good, down to earth farmer, a hard worker and loved taking care of and raising his cattle. Dad was a man of few words and yet the lessons and the values of life that he taught us, spoke clearly to us as a family and spread out to all those around. He was a willing helper and a man who loved his neighbor. Dad and Mom moved into Benito in October 1997. He continued to grain farm and sold his cattle just this past autumn. In January 2009 he was told he had incurable cancer. Although his wish was to enjoy his family and grandchildren longer, he quietly and courageously accepted God's plan for his life. Once again going before his family with a willing cheerfulness, often expressing his thankfulness and faith and trust in God. He will be deeply and greatly missed by us all. Those left to treasure memories are his wife Libby, two sons; Greg and Brenda of Chilliwack, British Columbia, Howard and Lori of Arran, Saskatchewan, four daughters; Darlene and Delbert of Arran, Saskatchewan, Yvonne and Earl Unruh of Arran, Saskatchewan, Angela and Kent Schmidt of Chilliwack, British Columbia, Denise and Brenton Barkman of Creston, British Columbia, 13 grandchildren; Dallas, Carlin, Desiree, Dean, Dale, Sheri, Alika, Emily, Tara, Travis, Ty, Eric and Sierra, five sisters; Brunhilda, Elsie, Adella, Paulina and Norma, and two brothers; Walter and Otto. His parents Philip and Elizabeth, two sisters; Anna and Margaret and two brothers; John and Philip predeceased him. An evening service for family and friends was held from the Swan River Valley Mennonite Church on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services were held from the Swan River Valley Mennonite Church on Thursday, May 28, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. with Ministers Dennis Barkman and Jerome Koehn officiating.
