JOHN ARTHUR (JACK) VAN BUEKENHOUT Born November 24, 1935 in St. Boniface, Manitoba, Jack passed away May 23, 2009. He was predeceased by his father, Jules (1983). He will be missed by his mother, Antoinette, his wife of 48 years, Jeannette, sons Paul (Rosanna), James (Barbara), daughter Jacqueline (Bryan). He will also be missed by his grandchildren Vivienne, Suzanne, James, Carla, Justin, Jenna and Sara. The last 17 months of Jack's life were spent between Minoru Pavilion, Richmond Hospital and Vancouver General Hospital. We thank all of these institutions for their help and support. Jack's retirement years were spent volunteering his time with organizations such as the Sisters of the Atonement, and served on the Richmond Public Library Board and the RCMP Community Policing Program. Prayers were held Thursday, May 28 at 6:30 p.m., and a celebration of Jack's life will be held Friday, May 29 at 11:00 a.m., St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 4451 Williams Road, Richmond. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Sisters of the Atonement, 373 E. Cordova St., or a charity of your choice in Jack's memory.
