JOHN CLIFFORD TRAVERSE (Priest/Kolomay) January 11, 1952 - May 26, 2009 It is with deep sorrow and sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of John C. Traverse, also known as Priest/Kolomay, on Tuesday, May 26, 2009. John has completed his journey here on earth and will continue his journey forever in God's eternal heavenly kingdom. Wake service will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 29, 2009 at the Day of Pentecost Church, Lake St. Martin First Nation. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2009 with Pastor Alexander Marsden officiating. Interment to follow at the Lake St. Martin Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his nephews and friends, Norman Traverse Jr., Matthew Traverse, Timothy Traverse, Benjamin Traverse, Ryan Ross and Elwood Sinclair. Cross bearers will be Winston Thompson and Vincent Traverse. Honorary pallbearers will be all the friends and relatives that knew him. The family would like to give thanks to Pastor Bruce Martins and his wife for prayers and communion. Also to the staff and doctors at the Lakeshore General Hospital in Ashern, the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg and the Riverview Health Centre in Winnipeg along with all those who came to visit and prayed with him and the family.
