MARY SHEILA MORGAN (nee MACAULAY) September 7, 1931 - May 27, 2009 After a courageous battle with cancer, on May 27, 2009, Mary Sheila Morgan passed away at Dauphin at the age of 77 years. Mary was born on September 7, 1931 at Dunrea, Manitoba, to Margaret (nee Morrison) and Angus MacAulay, the second youngest of seven children. She was predeceased by her parents, her sisters, Chrissie and Ina; and her brothers, Geordie, Murdo and Jack. Cherishing her memory are her devoted husband of almost 56 years, Donald E. Morgan; her daughters, Laurie Morgan (Willi Ahrens), Barbara Pooley (Bill); her son Don Morgan (Karen); her granddaughters, Robyn and Paige Pooley; her sister Cathy Biggs and a lifetime of friends and extended family. Mary's childhood and early teen years were spent in Dunrea, Manitoba. At 14 her family moved to Winnipeg where she completed her education and started her early career at Great West Life. Mary married the love of her life, Donald in 1953 and together they raised their family, moving to Dauphin in 1965. After her youngest child was in school she rejoined the workforce and Mary worked for many years at Love and Persson Insurance in Dauphin. Mary was very proud of her Scottish heritage and the MacAulay annual Ceilidh at Christmas was always the highlight of her year. Mary led a full and rich life, although her time with us was too short. She was an avid reader, she was involved in her community and church, and she enjoyed an active social life with many clubs, square dancing and bridge. Don and Mary were great travellers and when not travelling the world, they loved their time at their cabin at Clear Lake. Mary was a loving and generous mother and she was devoted to her granddaughters of whom she was immensely proud. Mary always thought of others first; and she was a true lady in manner and action. Mary had a special bond with her extended family clan and she also enjoyed many long and loving friendships throughout her life. Thank you to all who knew; helped and loved Mary. Funeral services for Mary will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from the First United Church in Dauphin with Reverend Robert Johansson officiating. Interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary's memory to CancerCare Manitoba. Sneath- Strilchuk Funeral Services (204) 638-4110
