Robert (Bob) Larcombe passed away at Rosewood Lodge on May 28, 2009. He will be greatly missed by his family, daughter Carol (Ron) Mann, grandson David (Michelle) Mann; great-grandchildren Sidney and Blaine; granddaughter Jennifer MacInnes (Kris Hardy); great-grandchildren Camryn and Kashton. Daughter Lorna Findlay (Gene Wertepny); granddaughter Andrea (Kevin) Ritter; great-granddaughters Meagan and Madeline; granddaughter Monica (Gord) Burnett; great-grandson Garry; great-granddaughter Mykenna; great-grandson Brendon; grandson Andrew (Tracy) Findlay; great-grandsons Bradley and Tyler. He is also survived by his brother Gordon (Elaine) Larcombe, sisters Phyllis Clark, Gladys Yule and Myrtle Slatcher. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Robert (Audrey) Brad, sisters-in-law Betty Lillies and Bernice Thordarson and many special nieces and nephews. Dad was born in Camper, Manitoba on February 22, 1915. His family later moved to the Meadow Lea area to farm. Dad worked at many jobs in his lifetime and enjoyed each and every one of his endeavours. He married Audrey Brad on October 23, 1943 and they enjoyed 53 years together until Mom's passing in 1997. Mom and Dad went everywhere together and it was very hard for Dad to continue on his own, but he took the challenge. He left the farm in 2000, and moved to Crocus Manor in Stonewall. He enjoyed his stay there very much, but in 2009, with his eyesight failing and his mobility a problem, it was time to move on to the next step. In his own indomitable spirit he made the move to Rosewood Lodge in January 2009. In the short time that he was there he made many friends and had started the next phase of his life. Our Dad was always a kind, caring, responsible and helpful man. He was the purest example of the word gentleman. We will miss him greatly. In lieu of flowers donations in Dad's memory, if so desired, can be made to Rosewood Lodge Personal Care Home, 513 1st Ave., North, Stonewall, MB R0C 2Z0. Cremation has taken place and at Dad's request there will be no formal service. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
