HAZEL M. BUTTERWORTH April 20, 1925 - May 29, 2009 Hazel (nee Carlson) passed away peacefully at the age of 84 years at the Riverview Health Centre. Hazel is survived by Stan, her loving husband of 61 years and her sons and their families; Fred (Jennifer), their children, Anthony (Carina), Ian (Amanda) and Erik and greatgrandson Karl, of Calgary, and Gary (Tannis), their children, Stephanie, Michael and Thomas. Also cherishing her memory are sister-in-law and brother-in-law Doreen and Ray Mikulik; sisters-in-law Molly, of Kenora, and Jean and brother-in-law Don Robson and her nieces, nephew and cousins as well as many good friends. Hazel was born at home in St. Vital; lived mostly in Winnipeg but also Vancouver, Saskatoon and Calgary. She was employed at Air Canada, Eaton's and the Bay. Her greatest pleasures were time spent with family and friends. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A gathering to remember Hazel will be held at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. on Thursday, June 4, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to a charity of choice.
