MARY (VICKY) VICTORIA NEWBURY Peacefully on Sunday, May 31, 2009 Vicky Newbury passed away, surrounded by her family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Remaining to forever cherish Vicky's memory are her husband George; her sister, Peggy (Alec); her sons, David (Darcelle) and Joel (Tracy); her daughter Diana (Sean); her grandchildren, Dominique, Jonas, Meagan and Natasha; and her many nieces, nephews and friends. Vicky will always be remembered as a loving and caring woman, and we will all miss her chocolate chip cookies. She was predeceased by her father Thomas; her mother Beatrice; her brothers Alex, Ronnie and Joey and her sister Linda. Her last few years were spent in the glow of adulation for her grandchildren. Her face lit up and her pain diminished when they were in her arms. Vicky's funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. in the Silver Heights United Church, 199 Garrioch Avenue (corner of Mount Royal Road and Ness Avenue). For those who wish, additional parking is available in the Seventh Day Adventist Church parking lot located off of Ness Avenue. Interment will follow in Glen Lawn Cemetery, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Vicky's memory to CancerCare, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 and the Arthritis Society, 105-386 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 3R6.
