STANLEY GEORGE STEVENSON HOOTSAMAN November 8, 1954 - May 31, 2009 It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the tragic passing of our loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Stanley George Stevenson of Peguis First Nation at the age of 54 years. Stanley leaves to mourn; daughters, Mel (Greg Daniels), Tracey and their mother Emily Govereau; son Matthew Stevenson, step-daughter Adriane Daniels and their mother Selena Stevenson; brothers, Louis (Shirley) Stevenson and Terry (Addie) Stevenson; sisters, Joan Sinclair, Sarah Stevenson, Doris (Darryl) Bear, Linda (Lloyd) Stevenson, Wendy Stevenson and Hazel Stevenson; his grandchildren who called him Mushie are Brandon, Ethan and Alaina Daniels; numerous nephews, nieces and friends. Stanley was predeceased by his parents Dora and Bethuel Stevenson; brother Vernon; nephews, Sean and Stewart Stevenson; brother-in-law John Sinclair. Stanley was a loving father and his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. He was affectionately known as Mushie by them. Stan lived his life to the fullest. He was employed by the Peguis Band and worked in shipping and receiving. Stan liked joking around and people were drawn to him by his charming ways and smiling face. Stan was a hard worker and worked many late hours. His favourite pastime was playing Texas Hold'em and entering tournaments. Stan touched the lives of many who knew him and he will be greatly missed. Thanks to all those who provided prayers and support, food donations, the Band Shop boys who came by, Fisher Ambulance, Fisher Branch RCMP and the Fisher River Band constable. Wake service will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Both services will be held at the Stevenson old home place Peguis, Manitoba, with Jim Anderson officiating.
