ALIZE KATANNYA MARGARET KASIAN October 16, 1986 - May 30, 2009 It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear Alizé while on vacation with her parents in London, England on May 30, 2009. Alizé leaves to mourn her father and mother, Don and Laura Kasian, grandparents Walter and Olga Kasian, and Margaret Colwill. She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, George Colwill in 1994. Alizé will be lovingly remembered by her uncles, Dennis Kasian (Vivian), Peter Colwill (Angela), aunts Virginia Lockett (Peter), and Kelay Ohlhauser (Larry), her cousins Laura, Melissa, Madisen, Maurghen, and Carson, and close friends Dan and Linda Domanski, Sandy Irving, Hannah Song, Curtis, and Coco. Alizé enrolled in French Immersion in Edmonton in kindergarten and was fluent in French by grade four, a significant asset in her worldly travels! She then moved to Vancouver and completed her junior high and high school at Collingwood School in West Vancouver. Alizé attended post secondary at Concordia University in Montreal for a year and, at the time of her passing, she was enrolled at Grant MacEwan College in Edmonton in the Business Program. Her friends will remember her as a creative artist and a wicked goalie. When her hometown Oilers were on a winning streak, Alizé could be known to wear the team colours in her hair and a team jersey to the games. Alizé loved life and lived it to the fullest. She especially enjoyed her Sunday dinners with the Domanski family. An avid traveler, Alizé enjoyed traveling the world with her parents, when she wasn't in school or driving around in her beloved Jeep she named girl . In lieu of flowers a scholarship in Alizé's name has been set up at Grant MacEwan College in Edmonton. The Alizé Katannya Margaret Kasian Leadership Award will exemplify Alizé's passion and commitment for community and global citizenship. Donations may be made to Grant MacEwan College at 780-497-4285. Alizé chose her own path in life and we honour the privilege of sharing this short time with her. Alizé, you will always be loved and cherished..au plaisir de se revoir, ma chérie. Cremation will take place in London and a memorial service in Canada will be announced at a later date. Don and Laura wish to express their sincere appreciation to all their friends and relatives who have gathered around at this very difficult time. Messages of support and condolences may be sent to messagestodonandlaura@kasian.com. A Facebook page entitled Tribute to our loving friend, Alizé Kasian has been created at www.facebook.com
