Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRUTH BELLAMY May 26, 1921 - May 26, 2009 Peacefully in her sleep, Ruth passed away at South Granville Park Lodge in Vancouver, BC, age 88. She was predeceased by her husband Merle, her parents, Eva and Del Willson and siblings Irene, Allan and Don. She will be remembered by her siblings Beryl (Jim) and family of Winnipeg, Merlice (Brian) and family of Phoenix, Arizona and Dorothy on the home farm, as well as other extended family. Representing family in Vancouver is Lorraine Bellamy. Ruth was born in Boissevain and attended Caranton, Boissevain High School and Business College. She arrived in Flin Flon in 1944 and worked for the Hudson Bay Mining Company as an accountant, was active in bowling, golf and curling. Left Flin Flon in a 1928 Packard with Catherine Wright, Ann Cook and Anne McGowan for Vancouver, where she worked for Maple Leaf Milling Co., E.B. Gibbons and others. She was an honourary member of the Vancouver Business Girls Curling Club in 1949. Ruth married Merle Bellamy in 1962 and made their home in Burnaby, then Aldergrove. They were active in the Grotto organization. There will be no funeral service. Interment will be in Forest Lawn, in Burnaby.
