Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPAULINE (POLLY) SIGURGEIRSON August 20, 1931 - June 2, 2009 It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Pauline Sigurgeirson on June 2, 2009 at the age of 77. Polly was born in Arborg, MB on August 20, 1931; being the youngest of seven children. She spent her years raising her eight children and later raising her grandson Sean. Polly was employed as a home care attendant for numerous years, and retired at the age of 65. She was a member of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary Branch #161 and also served as the Silver Cross Mother for several years. A lifelong homemaker; she enjoyed her flowers, cooking, pickling, reading, music and snooping. Mom's greatest pleasures and memories were spent surrounded by those she loved. Her zest for life and strength as a mother always inspired her family. She was a one of a kind gramma; always making life fun, with her wit and her love to tease. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Garry, Gale (Dan), Sharlene, Craig (Dolores), Paula (Harvey), Wade (Maureen) and Russell (Kathy). She will be missed and remembered by her grandchildren: Heather, Loralee, Clayton, Corrine, Gwen, Chrystal, Devin, Jennelle, Sean, Jenna, Darren, Adrian and Brock; also four great-grandchildren. Polly was predeceased by her daughter Diane; her brothers Stanley, Edmund, Marion, Joseph; sisters Nellie and Helen and her parents Peter and Mary Podborachinski. She has left her family with many fond memories of her comical ways and will be dearly missed by all who shared in her life. Flowers are greatly declined. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. A private family interment will take place.
